Dear Rahul,
1. Based on my profile which US or canadian colleges do you refer as I'm more interested in those insti's which have strong networking, alumni, course content..
I encourage you to visit our sticky on school selection for tips on how to identify and select target schools that match what you are seeking in a MBA program.
2. Whether its possible for me to switch to sales and marketing domain during my MBA and get a reasonable job?
Whether or not you can make a successful career change depends mainly on you and the effort you put into your job search. Completing business school is definitely a great first step in making a transition, so be sure to apply to schools with strong reputations in sales and marketing to best prepare you for your future career.
3. What do you suggest about General management program?
This question is quite vague, so you need to clarify what you are specifically asking here. If you are referring to schools with good general management curriculums, then you will find that most accredited business schools will give you a solid foundation in general management with the core curriculum.
4. Is it worth to spend a huge amount on B schools ranging from 15-30 in rank. I'm keen for a career switch.
Perhaps. It depends on whether or not that schools is a good match for you. Generally speaking, there are many great programs out there that do not receive high placement in the rankings, but their graduates have successful careers. Rankings are not the only, nor the best, indicator of placement success.
5. Being an IT profile ( most common ) what do you refer, should i do to boost my chances ( apart from score and applications )
You need to find a way to distinguish yourself from the other similar applicants in the pool. Perhaps that is through your community involvement, extracurricular activities, or life experience? Basically, you need to present a compelling application that makes the admissions committee want to have you in the school.
Good luck,
Lisa
