Hey Rupsk,

You may want to evaluate your study plan before diving into private tutoring. What materials have you used? What is your strategy for each of the three verbal question-types?

As one of Grockit's GMAT tutors, I know that I like to know some backstory on a student's prep so far before I can suggest a course of action. There's probably a lot you can do to improve your score pre-tutoring, before you'll be able to fully take advantage of what a tutor offers. :-)

Hi,

I had taken online veritas course and also have manhatan study material. I had solved most of the problems from the book material and finished individual tests on different topics. Now i had started taking full combine test. first i started with 800score from veritas where you can attempt verbal and maths sections separately. I am getting avg of 48 score on maths which is near to my expected score as maths is my strength, but in verbal I got it 31,32 and surprising 40 score. From the test CR and RC turned out to be my weak points but earlier I had more issue with SC but I had worked on it. I do not know how much 800score weigh in comparison to real GMAT but I got nervous after getting such poor score in verbal.

Thanks
rupali

Hi Rupsk,

I am not native English speaker too and I took a tutor from India and honestly he was not worth my money. I did not improve my score.....Make sure you put your money into good hands!

Good luck!

Rupsk, you definitely need a stronger CR/RC strategy, then. So I'd suggest a tutor who can offer you that. For RC, especially, you have to know what you're looking for before you start reading the passages, and make predictions before reading the answer choices. Try these links to get you started:

You can always message me via Grockit to set up a private tutoring session!
