I apologize, I forgot to mention my weaknesses: -Word Problems: Time/Distance, Combinatorics, etc. -Geometry: Triangles I generally do not have a problem with verbal, but I do tend to blank out on the rules of sentence correction when I am in the test. After the math section, I get very discouraged....

To Vivian - Thank you very much for responding to my initial query. My study plan was definitely flawed. I never really knew how to properly structure it. Basically, what I did was the following: Month 1: Studied weak areas in certain math areas (timed drills, book work, etc). Month 2: Verbal study....

The test is truly my albatross...please advise!
Hi Beat the GMAT community, I am sad to say that I have been on here for a long time, but have not been able to share a success story. I feel the situation is a bit complicated, and I was hoping I could garner some advice. I have taken this exam multiple times. When in the testing room, my mind goes...

Hey iwillsurvive101, We have almost the same handle! How about that! Well, the GMAT and I have a very love-hate relationship. I think all people have this crippling and agonizing anxiety when taking this exam. When you sat down at the computer at the test center, did your mind go blank? Did you forg...

Hello Everyone, I just want to say "Thanks" to everyone for bringing up this topic. I myself have only taken about three practice tests, and I have also completely ignored the scores. I was told by my GMAT tutor that the scoring algorithms are very skewed. I believe the tutor said ".....

Hello. I apologize - it is definitely "A". K=5 is not enough info. We do not know what the variable "n" stands for. Also, if you add (3+1))^3 = 4^3 = 64. 64/3 = 21, remainder 1. It is like this with many numbers you try...I think it turns out to be a multiple of the actual product.

I know this thread is somewhat old, but this is a great example of those tricky remainder problems. I was already prepared to say "B", but now I can see why it is D! You almost have to test numbers for these...just to check scenarios. One thing I did was check odd and even numbers...you ne...

I would say Choice E? This seems to be what Manhattan GMAT calls a "Logic Gap" assumption question, or maybe even an alternate model of causation.
I would say that the assumption was drawn based upon "nobody was in the church". It has to tie back to that statement.

Bara, I completely agree with this article. I have suffered with test anxiety for quite some time. I have good concept knowledge, and can do OG problems perfectly well under timed conditions. However, I have been taking the MGMAT practice CATs, and I have not been doing well. I seem to freeze during...

Hi Matt, Thanks so much. I find this reassuring. I almost thought the OG questions were easier, hence I should worry more. I am taking the MGMAT CATs (which I mentioned earlier), and those are really quite hard. I ended up getting scores that were worse than my last try on the GMAT. During my last t...

Hi Sino, I wanted to say "Congratulations". That is a wonderful business school. I wish you all the best in your studies and in your future. If you do not mind, I just had a couple of questions for you in relation to the GMAT: 1. Did you find the Official Guide questions to be in line with...

Hi Bosa, Thanks again for answering responses! I know I am pretty late on this forum, but I just happened upon it. I work for the Department of Defense, and I am always busy. I have not had a day off or a real vacation in a long time. So, visiting schools has been hard. The best I could do was visit...

Hi Cinnia, I know for a fact that I am not the most qualified person to answer this post. However, I can relate to you 100%. This test is not really a content exam. It does not test whether you know the formulas or the harder parts of the quant. It merely asks the test taker to utilize the simple fo...

Hello Sino, Thank you for the response. Your response was greatly appreciated. I have to agree with you. I think this is a problem I have - disconnecting from the test as a whole. I think many of us are overachievers, and we measure everything according to our performance. Ordinarily, this would be ...
