Hello Karan,
Hope everything is ok with you.
I will be joining ESSEC for the Global MBA starting Sept 2011.
I want to know how important it is to have a knowledge of French? What level of knowledge would you recommend?
Thanks
Ayan

Hello there....First of all, hearty congratulations for getting in one of the best b schools.
Would you be able to tell us how the interview was? What kind of questions were asked and how you replied?
I think that would benefit the community as well.

I just read an article in Businessweek today and it says that most of the b schools are having to raise the percent of intakes. Previously a school which used to take only 25% of the total applicants, is now taking 33-35% (roughly). Which leads me to think that not only we have been affected by the ...

I've been working on essays for several schools now. Like most people, I am having trouble keeping the length within the ramifications of each school. There is no word count for these schools, rather a page count: 2 pages, double spaced. The question I have is font size: I can get away with strong ...

I absolutely think that you include how your goals originated in the essay. I also think that you include why/how your current skill set will be instrumental in helping you achieve these goals. Obviously you think that you need more than our current skill set (which is why you need the MBA), but, i...

Need some advice about a specific essay question
Hello, I have a question from a B school which goes "What are your mid and long-term goals after doing the MBA?" Just this, it doesn't ask anything else. Now my question is: Should I model my essay by just mentioning the goals? OR Should I also mention how these goals originate, why I thin...

100 is not a bad score at all, but depends what the university you are applying to wants.
As far as I know Speaking test marks in TOEFL have been a rude shock for many.
If your universities accept IELTS, why dont you give a try?
Its much easier to speak to a person rather than in a microphone.

Viki....let me congratulate on your score...thats a killing score...Good Luck with your apps..
On a different note, I wonder how the GMAT scoring system works.
Dana J got 50Q & 47V and total score of 770.
You got 50Q & 45V and still the same total score.

I dont think its a good idea to begin something based on a lie, however small it is.
Maybe you can talk to your manager about the options and stress the fact that you have been putting in so much effort to get interview calls. Some doors will open for sure.

I have doubts if any person who has not worked as an Adcom will be able to comment on point 1. Everyone else will be speculating only. Reg point 2, I would slightly disagree on the amount of achievement. It is possible to have substantial achievement provided you really like what you are doing. But ...

MBA outside the US
Hello, Is anyone applying to schools like ESADE, LBS, Cranfield, Oxford, Manchester etc? What advantages (or disadvantages) do European schools have when compared to their US counterparts? I remember reading the blog of Hari K, who was a moderator in BTG; He preferred an European school for the dive...
