690 to 730...thanks to Manhattan
Tamed the beast….got a 730 (Q49,V41). Very relieved. Extremely happy. Few months back, I sat for the test for the first time and got a 690 (Q47,V38). See my post on this: http://www.beatthegmat.com/am-i-6ft-tall-or-5ft-11in-t35918.html#146622 Since my last attempt, I focused solely on Manhattan ma...

Is pre-test burnout a real possibility?
Hi, I am taking the real thing day after tomorrow i.e. Sunday (yes, I am from a part of the world that follows a Sun - Thu work week). I had taken the GMAT in May 2009, and scored a 690 (Q47, V38). My target score was 700+. I sat for the test with about a month's preparation using OG, Vebal & Qu...

Hey, I would recommend Manhattan too. I recently sat for the GMAT and scored a 690 - I wanted a 700 plus score. I have now taken up Manhattan - their material is excellent. With them, you get to target the fundamentals and then work your way up. I have just begun with the first book...but I can alre...

Query on 800 score GMAT CAT TESTS
Hi,
Has anyone used the 800 Score GMAT Prep Tests? I think there are 5 of them.
Are they similar to the real thing?
Will appreciate your inputs.

Thanks Jim. I was thinking on very similar lines. I think I should be able to extract a 720 or at least a 710. While there maybe no meaningful difference between a 690 and a 700, it does play upon the minds of interviewers(I guess). One advantage next time around is that I am likely to be a bit rela...

Your AWA score will not affect the 690...you will get to know the AWA once you receive the score report from GMAC.

Thanks to all of you guys.
I am planning to get in touch with schools that I am interested in. This is essentially to assess whether I need to retake the exam or not.

Am I 6ft tall or 5ft 11in??
I sat for the real thing today. Score: 690 (Q47, V38). Target score was 700... a 710 would have made me very happy. Practice test results: - 1 week before the actual test: GMAT Prep 1 (first attempt): 700 (Q48, V38) - 2 days before the actual test: GMAT Prep 2 (first attempt): 710 (Q48, V39) Prepara...

Real thing day after tomorrow
I took GMAT Prep 2 today. Score was 710 Q48, V39). [GMAT Prep 1 taken about a week back: 700 (Q48, V38)]. I was hoping to get around 720 or 730. This would have placed me in the right frame of mind when I take the actual thing on Monday (my target is 700). I made 4 mistakes (out of a total of 12 mis...

I have used the Original Guide and the two review guides - verbal and quantitative.
Based on my performance on Monday, I will decide whether or not to take a professional course. I am planning to take the Manhattan online course.

Thanks leaonae.
I was doing exactly the opposite...I was trying to assess whether the questions were getting harder or easier...whether I would get around a 720 or not, etc.
You are right - I need to maintain my cool. Thanks for your tips.
Will take GMAT Prep 2 on Sat...actual test is on Monday.
