Great Story

You have a great story and one that resonates with my experience on the exam. I think in many respects the battle you described will be a great resource for you to draw from when writing your application essays. A 670 puts you in the inner 80% with schools in the top 10.

Good luck!

The answer is 5. You have 105 "spots" in English, Math, German combined and with overlap. The problem states 15 students take all 3 classes which means those 15 students account for 45 "spots" leaving 60 "spots". We know there are only 70 real students total which we su...

Skang357 - Cornell's admission committee is deciding my fate this Monday and Tuesday. My conversation with the adcom went very well yesterday. The woman I interface with has been extremely supportive of my candidacy and asked me to hit a 700... I think she was still pretty impressed by the leap to a...

I took a Veritas practice exam 1 week ago and echo your response. I thought the quant was too easy and the verbal was just insane. I did not agree with many of their critical reasoning answers and to start the exam off I had 2 reading comprehension passages back to back which seemed unlike any previ...

GMAT, 6 times - 530 to 680 (Q47 V35) Perserverance Prevails.

I tried to make this short. It really is impossible to make this short given the fact I have taken the exams so many times. At last, I am done. Find my story below. Short History: I took the GMAT 6, yes, SIX times. My scores in sequence: 3/2007 – 530 (Q:AWFUL V:MEDIOCRE) I really don’t even know wha...

I am sitting for it for the 6th time today...... Admissions committees will want to know why you took it so many times... my response is that I always felt my scores were deflated for my ability. Hopefully today's result will provide evidence that that statement is true. Good luck with your studying...

It does provide the answer solution but when you are the night before the exam and have used 14 Manhattan practice exams, going back to find that given problem takes time.

Thanks for the help.

It absolutely does match. I actually figured the problem out shortly after posting. The key is getting a common denominator when solving for t for the 1st 1/2 and the 2nd 1/2 of the trip. Then it is just manipulating the equation to solve for D.

Thanks for responding!

Going to battle tomorrow.. any advice?

I am what you would call an anomaly. I have taken the GMAT 5 times to date and am sitting for my sixth time. I have been stuck in the low 600's with a 620 as my highest score. I changed my entire routine, hired a tutor for the last six weeks and have seen practice exams jump significantly. The bigge...

The raw scores are computed based on an ever-changing sample thus slightly different raw scores can produce the same overall score.
