Help with Probablility Question
It's a simple one but I'm not sure what the best approach is. If there are six numbers numbered 1-6, what is the probability of choosing numbers 1, 2, and 3? My approach: because order doesn't matter I used the combination 6 choose 3 which equals 20 possible combinations. Then there is only one comb...

Advice needed on CR - please
I wanted to seek out the advice of the people on this forum regarding how I should study for the CR reasoning section. I am three months into my study and I have only CR and RC to go. I just did the diagnostic questions in OG 12 for CR, though, and I got 15 out of 17 right. That being said, I wanted...

Another way to look at it is algebraically. We can model the question as is x + 10y + 100z < 550? x being the units digit y being the tens digit z being the hundreds digit (1) we are given xyz = 30 Then factors of 30 are: 1,2,3,5,30 choosing some examples: if z=5, y=3, x=2 then the answer is yes but...

Sorry Mohit I didn't see the question. But here's my attempt to explain why it's A. an odd number added to itself an odd number of times would be odd+odd+odd, or odd+odd+odd+odd+odd etc., rewritten as 3*odd or 5*odd, or it can be generalized to (2k+1)*odd for any integer k. Because 2k+1 will always ...

Answer is A because a) k = odd, n = even or odd even test: even + (even*odd) = even + even = even odd test: odd + (odd*odd) = odd + odd = even Therefore the sum must be even. Sufficient. b) k = odd, n = even or odd even test: odd*even = even odd test: odd*odd = odd Therefore the sum can either be od...

Just to clarify, 2 IS a prime number. It is the first and only even prime number.
2+5+11 = 18 as Shibal outlined above[/quote]

Nice debrief and even better score!
Just out of curiosity, about how long did you study for your GMAT?
And about how long on average did it take to go through each Manhattan math book?

What materials are given on test day?
I tried searching for this but I couldn't find anything. What materials do they give you on test day? Mba.com mentioned you get 5 notepads, but I remember reading that you get an eraseable whiteboard instead. If someone could clarify this that would be great. Thanks!

Worth delaying GMAT for OG 12 Quant & Verbal?
I wanted to get the opinion of the people from this forum. I was planning on starting to study for the GMAT beginning in July for an early October test date. I noticed, however, that the OG 12 for verbal and quant is scheduled to be released in mid and late August respectively. That being said, do y...
