Re: When positive integer A is divided by 6, the remainder
Consider A as 3 (since the remainder is 3 ,when divided by 6)
and B as 9 (since the remainder is 9 ,when divided by 12)
So, 3^2 + 9^2 = 90
90 /12 gives us a remainder of 6

If n divided by 7 has a remainder of 2, what is the remainder when 3 times n is divided by 7?
Problem Solving
Re: If n divided by 7 has a remainder of 2, what is the remainder when 3 times n is divided by 7?
If n = 9
9 / 7 gives 2 as the remainder
3n = 27
27 / 7 gives us 6 as the remainder

Re: When positive integer x is divided by 20, the remainder is 8.
We see that x /20 gives remainder 8, take x as 28
28/ 5 gives remainder of 3 (ans) , can choose other values such as 8, 48 etc as well

Now, write the equations down, x= 11 y + 3
, and x = 19 t + 3
11y = 19t
y= 19 t/11 , y has to be divisible by 19
Hence, the remainder is 0

Re: A bowl contains 18 raffle tickets, numbered 1 through 18. If two raffle tickets are chosen at random from the bowl,
Total even nos = 9
Probability to pick first even number = 9/18
Probability to pick second even number (considering no replacement) = 8/17
Combining the 2 = 1/2 * 8/17 = 4/17

Triangles AEB and BCF are similar triangles, 2 common sides 1 common angles (SAS congruency)
So, angle EBF = BAE = (110 - 90 ) = 20

Re: During the 31-day month of May, a tuxedo shop rents
Number of days left in the month = 30 ( 1 day already chosen for highest = 55 tuxs) Since each days sold different numbers, for maximizing this, we need numbers closest to 55 55 (max) - 30 (days left) = 25 = least sold in the month Use sum of sequence formula to calculate --> \frac{n}{2}x\ \left(2a+...

Perimeter of hexagon is = 6x
Now, as per the right angled triangle OHE, ^{x^2}=\ \left(\frac{^{ }x}{2}\right)^{2^{ }}\ +\ 4^2
Solve for x, x = 8/\sqrt{3}
Now 6x = 8\ x\ 2\sqrt{3} = 16\sqrt{3}

If 2.5% of total amount is paid back semi-annually, let's calculate the amount to be paid:
\frac{2.5}{100}x240
= $6
So, if $6 is semi-annually (6 months) --> $1 is paid per month (\frac{\text{6}}{6})
Number of months for $21 --> $21 (total to be paid) / $1 (paid per month) = 21 months
