Is "of late" an idiomatic expression?
The following sentence appears weird for me because the phrase of late. Does that mean recently and require to use perfect tense?
Just as the free computer operating system Linux has of late become even more crash resistant, so support for it within the computer industry has been growing.

I don't see any need to use past perfect tense, so A and E are wrong.
With one's doing is almost always wrong, so B is out.
once limited... there are is awkward, so C is out.
D is the right answer.

For question 4. I only found incidental to, but didn't find either incidental from or incidental of.
So I don't know whey E is wrong.
