Indian Candidate: CGPA to percentage for US/UK colleges

Hi,

My undergrad CGPA in college was 8.4/10 (old IIT)
However the percentage conversion of it is 89% according to the official college rules.
While applying to US colleges, can I put my percentage instead of CGPA as it seems to have more impact?
