Thank you. Well, I think practicing non-conventional methods of solving quantitative questions is really a must for gmat. The more you practice, the more you 'trust' these techniques . What happens during GMAT is that you tend to follow traditional methods during the test, just because you have been...

Dear Navdeep, i think u forgot to state the question stem. I suppose it must be asking for and inherent assumption in the passage. You are going wrong because what you think to be a conclusion is actually only a sub-conclusion that supports the main conlusion. The conclusion is the very first statem...

Well, I think its B.
If the size is dependent on the variety of the animals on which the deer tick feeds, then large deer tick population will imply its being fed on other animals, which supports the conclusion.

Dear gmat2010, You seem to be confused between assumption and inference. Note that although both assumption and inference are unstated in the argument, the flow pattern is as follows: 1) Assumption Premise --> assumption --> conclusion 2) Inference Premise(s) --> inference It can be seen that any th...

I agreee with you vaibhav. There may be an error here. I think the statement is trying to generalize upon the effect of prolonged " low automotive market". It can make better sense if the statement were made in the beginning of March. Another view point is that the statement is declaring a...

IMO D.
declining sales (continued action) cannot be shown in percentage until it is complete. so it should be 'declined'. this leaves only B and D.
in B, since cannot go with 'and' after the comma so as to provide the contrast needed with 'since'.
Thus only D is left. What's the OA?

I think C should be the answer.
It brings clearly the contrast required between "once" and "now" (present) situations, without any use of redundant words like 'but' & 'and'.

I think the answer should be 3rd option
'growing fish twice as fast as growing them naturally, cutting......
First two violate the parallelism rule while in the last two, the pronoun 'they' does not refer to a single noun clearly and also suffer from parallelism error.

Re: B is Incorrect
B violated rule of parallelism. doubled and cutting are not parallel. Dear mission 2011, I think there is no harm in using doubled and cutting. That's because the second sentence is a subordinate clause and is not exactly parallel to the first, rather is dependent on the first. What do you think?

Re: farming in China
I think the answer is 'B' the problems with other choices are: A: 'cut in half' is not the correct idiomatic usage which, i think should be 'cut to half' C: ' of the previous year's' , the sentence is awkward. D: 'as' should not be used here. the currect usage will be while. E: pronoun disagreement....
