I think D,

A is sufficient if we plug the value;

ab = -6

here ab can be = 1, -6 $ 2,-3

x - y = 5

only 2 - (-3) = 5

therefore, a = 2, and b = -3

sufficient to answer the problem

In the same way B is also sufficient

Therefore answer is D

simple approach

Ratio of mileage: mileage on highway/mileage on city =
= 462/336 = 11/8

differene is 3.

in the question the diff. is 6,

therefore = 11/8 * 2/2 = 22/16

Sudir Your expl is right , just see this one also. Pythagoras theorem a traingle can be in the ration of : 3,4,5 or 5,12,13 Add: 3+4+5 = 15 or 5+12+13 = 30 Perimeter is 60, therefore side can be: 15, 20, 25 or 10 , 24, 36 Now side PQ > PR, therefore Side PQ can be 20 or 24 and side PR can be 15 or 1...

OA is B,

But why i and j cannot equal to zero. because it is not mentioned that i and j are different integers .

therefore, i = j = 0,

then, B is also insufficient,
