So it's clear: I am a bleeding heart liberal arts student who majored in philosophy/literature. I practically graduated with a major in Ambiguity, so I'm very sympathetic to your comments that there isn't a "definitive" answer. However, I'm skeptical of two points: 1) Math and Engineering ...

At the end of the day it doesn't matter if it's fair or valid, it just matters that it's statistically true. When schools receive as many applications as they do, they have the luxury of taking top applicants with high GMAT and GPA. GPA is probably a good predictor of success because it implies unde...

You don't need to call anyone. Once you get in, you can figure it out. Some schools don't even have a verification process. You will be given a chance to provide updated information if they have trouble reaching him/her.

Are you trying to go to B-school straight from undergrad? Why?
Slow down tiger. Finish school, study while you're looking for a job, take the exam and do well, get a job, and then apply in 2 years. The reputable programs prefer you to have at least 2 years experience under your belt.

Turnover is staff retention over time. Ask your HR department or your boss if they have that information. Otherwise put n/a. It's not going to be a huge deal. What school even asks for this?

Not to be rude, but it kind of sounds like you were a bit lazy in undergrad. The approach you might want to take is to explain that you are much more mature now, demonstrated by X, Y, and Z. Furthermore, your GMAT can and will erase any concern about your academic aptitude. Your GMAT will go a long ...

If you want a top program but don't want a high price tag, well, stop searching now. Top programs are tons more expensive and give less aid. It's just the way it is.

Thank you! I love your blog and it does mean a lot to hear that coming from someone has prestigious in the GMAT/MBA community as yourself! Haha, I think you're confusing prestige with ubiquity. Question: For those who have used (or are going to use) an MBA as a career-changing vehicle, how did you decide on what concentration/industry/job role/etc you wanted to pursue post-MBA? Thank you for your time! I really look forward to your opinions and thoughts and hopefully this can start a disc...

I submitted around 12/1 and just got the ding e-mail. Pretty stunned since i thought i had a strong app and given the quick turnaround time, i assumed that it would be an invite. I guess this means that my profile is fundamentally flawed. Worried that this means i have little hope for the other top...

The difference probably depends on the school. The stats will be interesting once they come out, but at this point, just put your best application together.

First things first--congrats on your GMAT score! There's no better feeling than to underestimate and then outdo yourself! I strongly recommend waiting to apply until R1 next year. I can't imagine you being able to research all these schools and put together your applications by the R2 deadline. Sure...

8 is a lot of schools and it's a lot to ask your recommenders. I highly recommend simplifying it for them as much as possible. Since each school has its own questions, you should do the prework of organizing the questions for them and figuring out what they need to do for each. Unfortunately a gener...
