Given
1)B < A

2) D is average of C and B So D lies between C and B

3) A is average of D and C so A lies between C and D

with above three statements, the letters are arranged as B < D < A < C

Now plotting on number system :-

B----D--A--C

as can be seen C-A / A - B = 1/3

another rapid method is to test on boundary condition which is x = y, the equation then yields = 5 + 10 = 15, as y > x, the answer will be greater than 15. Now the max value this equation can yield is 30 only when x / (x +y) OR y / (x + y) ae equal to 1. this is clearly not possible as y > x hence s...

to get coordinates.

Divide the difference in y-coordinate i.e (6-0) into 4 parts (3:1) i.e 3/2

Divide the difference in x-coordinate i.e (-5+2) into 4 parts i.e -3/4

To get the actual coordinates, [-2-3/4 , 0+3/2] = [-2.75,1.5)

We need to determine the number of possible ways to construct line PR and PQ. (1)Number of ways to construct line PR is to select pairs of x-coordinate from -4 <=x<=5 = 10 * 9 = 90 (2)Number of ways to construct line PQ is to select pairs of y-coordinate from 6 <=x<=16 = 11 * 10 = 110 Total ways to ...
