Admissions in last round

Hi, I want to start my mba program this year itself and was aiming for top 25 programs in US for the same. I took gmat on 31 dec and scored 640. Can't give any excuse for getting a low score. Just want to know if I retake gmat by 10 February and suppose I get about 720+ and then apply in last round ...
