I am not convinced with the OA.
In option (B), what does "their" refer to? "fresh water snails" ?But I think the meaning of the sentence says the parasite's life cycle - not the snails .
Correct me if I am wrong
I would go with option (D)

What I believe is : Does not Weaken answer means it should not weaken the argument. We cannot weaken an argument by : 1) mentioning something irrelevant 2) strengthening the argument In that way this question has 2 correct choices : A - IRRELEVANT B - STENGTHEN Please let me know where I am wrong

I agree that (D) is the assumption.
But, in a way (c) is also an assumption.
How do I eliminate (C) from the contenders?
