Hi,
Congrats on your score. Your hard work really paid off. Good Luck with your apps!

Hi, The answer to your question has many ifs and buts. I am not experienced enough to answer your queries. From your post, I get the impression that you are assuming there will be 3 passages. We get 4 passages in GMAT more often than not. In addition to this, ignoring a passage most likely results i...

How many ways are there to choose two different squares on a chess board so that they are not in same column? Hi, Out of the 64 squares, 1st square can be picked in 64C1 = 64 ways. 2nd square should be picked from different column. So, it should be picked from 56 squares in 56C1 = 56 ways. As every...

Hi,
There are 12x songs and each song is selected 4x times. So, total selections = 12x * 4x.
Each student selects 2x songs.
So, number of students = 12x * 4x/2x = 24x.

Hi,
Just to add to the above posts, r can be -2 or +2. So, 6th term will be either -1 or +1.
a = 1/32
ar^10 = 32
So, a^2*r^10 = 1 =>(ar^5)^2 = 1
So, Sixth term, ar^5 = -1 or +1

If a≠0, is a<0? (1)(a+b-c)/a<0 (2)c>b OA is C . Detailed explanations would be appreciated. Thanks Hi, Great job bblast. You have already solved this. Just my take: It is clear that each statement alone is insufficient. Both(1) and (2): b<c => b-c<0 (a+b-c)/a<0 => 1+(b-c/a) < 0 So, (b-c)/a < -1 W...

But, Will it be not appropriate to say You have long and black hair ?

Hi, separate and required are both adjectives. Both modify 'course'. The usage is similar to - "You have long,black hair" long, black both modify hair. This is a valid construction. The usage of 'separately' to modify 'required' doesn't make sense because logically course should be separate.

The solution given in the document is different from the way i solved it. There are many problems which i have solved it using combinations and this one is confusing as even the answer choices won't fit in if i solve it using the above approach. Hi, y varies as the sum of two quantities. Let the two quantities be q1,q2. So, y = k(q1+q2), where k is a constant. q1 varies directly as x. So, q1 = ax, a is a constant q2 varies inversely as x So, q2 = b/x y = k(ax + b/x) is the equation. We will A,B such that A = ka and B = kb. So, y = Ax + B/x ...

A study SUGGESTS that more work IS needed Why "is" and not "be" is used? thx Hi, We use 'be' instead of 'is' only in command subjunctive mood. Here the study is not commanding anyone to do more work. It is just used in indicative mood. Hence, 'is' is appropriate. If we use the s...
