I had trouble in this area as well in the beginning. I used the pdf file in the wiki on permutations, combinations and probability and it seemed to help a lot. All of the questions in the file have explanations which is nice. I felt that the harder problems from the file were much harder than anything on the actual GMAT test. I haven't gotten a permutation/combination problem wrong in the OG for a while now.

I can't find it right now, but I'm sure someone else can post a link.

Hope that helps.

Don't get stressed out by these problems! A lot of GMAT test takers make the mistake of over emphasizing their prep in these subject areas when the truth is that these subject areas are infrequently tested on the GMAT. You should expect more than a handful (1-3 max) of these questions on your test.

Check out the Advanced Math resources available here, https://del.icio.us/beatthegmat. There should be some great resources there to get you up to speed in these subject areas.

If you continue to have issues, post your problems/queries in the appropriate forum areas of this community and we will help you.

All the best!
