disappointed..580..does universities average gmat score..??

very disappointed...got a score of 580..quant 47..verbal 27..i got 710 in both gmat prep1 n 2.. was not able to finish the verbal section..pop up came saying time out..is there a penalty for not completing a section.. and does all universities average gmat scores..??

There is a huge penalty for not finishing a section. It's actually better to blindly guess, according to

Most every B-school I've researched does not average scores; rather, they take the highest.
