Hi Aniket ...congrats on the amazing improvement, what would you say made most difference to your scores...as you mention using a couple of resources.

Specifically are the 800score tests worth for quant?...or would you suggest that the GMATprep 2.0 is sufficient and all that is needed...

Thanks
Kaps

It depends where you stand now. The OFFICIAL GUIDES must be done. After that u need to check how much you're consistently scoring in the practice CATS. if u're scoring less in quant, find out which specific topic. Use the MGMAT books as reference. Same for verbal. If you run out of CATs, u may need to get hold of more CATs. But keep in mind not all the CATs out there are adaptive in nature. MGMAt's the closest u'll get to the actual GMAT, at least in terms of scoring.

Once u're scoring consistently over 700 then move on to the GMATPrep 2 software's Question Pack1. The quant there is a whole new level. It gives u the exact level of 700-800 questions as the actual GMAT.

800 Score quants are good. They have some pretty good questions on number properties, similarities of triangles and geometry. The verbal's way too easy. Don't waste time on it.

Anikendra,

I gave the GMAT prep 2 test and the quant was tricky i and made some 13-14 mistakes.I got 640 in that test. What changes did you make to get to a score of 700 after you got 650 in gmat prep2 .I have exam in 1 week time and i am review my test after giving the exam but deep inside i have got that fear whether i am up to the mark.In verbal i know what is my weak area like i make a mistake in what is the point of the passage? kind of questions in RC.I am able to comprehend the passage in my own words but somehow the choices in the question seem to be same.Every RC has at least 1 of these questions.I don't want to panic but i just don;t know what changes do i need to make.

Well first off, I got 640 in the actual GMAT on my second attempt, not gmatprep...

First find out which type of questions you've got wrong. Word translations or number properties or geometry etc. Try and practice a few difficult questions of those types.

For RC, have u tried all the questions from OG? In "what is the purpose/point" of the passage, the correct answer is always the one that describes the whole passage in 2 sentences. U're saying u can comprehend the passage. After comprehending it, imagine u have to sms/text the summary of the passage in 3 lines to a high school student! u'll find that answer clicks with the option. U'll get a hold of this only after practice.
