Hello,

I am working as a IT Project/Program Manager at HP. I took my GMAT yesterday and got a score of 580.

My initial target was SMU COX since I live in Dallas. I think 580 is a decent enough score to apply for Part-time MBA at SMU COX.

My question is:
Is there any chance of getting into the "weekend MBA" program at Chicago-Booth or Kellogg with a score of 580 or is it going to be a waste of time to even apply for it?

Since it is a weekend program, I am trying find out if there is a chance of getting in with a lower score of 580. I have a M.S in computer science with 17 years of experience in IT with the last 7 years as a Project and Program Manager.

You would have to have something exceptional in your profile to get accepted to the Chicago weekend program. Their middle 80% is 620-740 (compared to 660-760 full time). That means only 10% of their class comes in below 620. Kellogg doesn't give a separate breakdown for the part-time program, but the full time program only accepts 8% below 640.

Obviously there are exceptions, but those people who get in with well below the average have something very unusual and interesting to offer.
