Can you put GPA in major if higher than overall?

Not sure what the convention is on resumes submitted for MBA applications. I have a 3.6 in my major, but a 3.4 overall (NO CLUE why I decided to stick with French). Can I put both?

Convention says
If your overall GPA is 3.0 or higher, list it on your resume. If your major GPA is 3.0 or higher, while your overall GPA is below 3.0, list it as your Major GPA on your resume. You can list both if they are above 3.0 and your major GPA is at least three tenths higher than your overall GPA

List both, it shows you dont hide.

You can put both. It's more to advantage of those have wider spreads (say for example you had a 3.4 and then a 3.9 in your major), but it's a higher number, and only takes about five characters space

The admissions committee will see all of your grades anyway so it doesn't really matter. IMO i would leave it off of the resume

If you only list your major GPA, then the reader will assume your total gpa is weak, and might have a negative feeling when considering the rest of your resume. Many admitted applicants have less than stellar gpas, but having a positive trend/uptick certainly helps remedy that scenario, and can be highlighted in the essays.

Each school has their own way of asking for descriptions - if there's any way to include an explanation, you probably should keep that in mind. However, many schools want very specific information in the statements.

It always depends on how much lower we're talking - 3.4-3.6 is good enough for most, whereas 3.0 might not have been.

Remember, averages are averages for a reason - for one above the average, there will be one below it. Dont worry that much, you are more than ok.
