710 on first try! (39Q 48V)

by tzink » Thu Aug 07, 2008 11:29 am
Hey guys,

Been using this site for just under a month and sat for the GMAT this morning. I only studied for about 2 weeks concerted effort, and scored a 710. My program of choice only needs a high 500, so I am in good shape!

It's nice to have it out of the way.

Obviously my verbal was much stronger than the quant, but honestly I did better on the quant than I did on the one practice test I completed.

How does the AWA get factored in, btw? Does it change the numerical score or is it a separate rating?

Cheers to everyone who answered questions for me :)

The AWA doesn't factor into your 200-800 score at all. You get a separate 0-6 score on that section that schools may or may not use when making admissions decisions. Basically, as long as you got a 4 or above, there's nothing to worry about.
