SC Grail Q Bank - Q17

Reactivating deals that were put on hold may be unwise in some industries where
fundamental changes during the crisis have weakened the competitive position of
deal targets or
hurt the structural attractiveness of their markets.

A. where fundamental changes during the crisis have weakened the competitive
position of deal targets or

B. in which fundamental changes during the crisis has weakened the competitive
position of deal targets and

C. where fundamental changes during the crisis have weakened the competitive
position of deal targets or

D. in which fundamental changes during the crisis have weakened the
competitive position of deal targets or

E. where fundamental changes during the time of the crisis have weakened the
competitive position of targets of the deal and

Hi all, my first doubt is how to choose b/w "and"/"or" in this particular question??? I know the differences in meaning both these word implies...AND means A causes both X and Y while OR means A causes either X or Y....but in this question, can we eliminate any answer choice based on this understanding??????
Although, i picked up the right answer, but i made my choice based on the words where and in which, can anyone select the correct answer choice OP D based on the use of AND and OR??????

"where" is used to modify a place. Deals do not fall in that category of place so "where" is incorrect.
SO we can eliminate A, C and E

out of B and D, "fundamental changes .... have" (changes is plural .. so we need a plural verb "have")
hence B is incorrect.

Therefore correct answer is D

1) fundamental changes will go with "have"
2) to me "that, where" going together is like writing "He and and you"

Option A and the quesiton are not matching
Remove B using 1
remove C,E using 2

I am left with D here

IMO D .

A. where fundamental changes during the crisis have weakened the competitive
position of deal targets or

B. in which fundamental changes during the crisis has weakened the competitive
position of deal targets and

C. where fundamental changes during the crisis have weakened the competitive
position of deal targets or

D. in which fundamental changes during the crisis have weakened the
competitive position of deal targets or

E. where fundamental changes during the time of the crisis have weakened the
competitive position of targets of the deal and

B has problem with Subject verb agreement , hence its eliminated not on basis of AND and OR.

I dont think we might encounter any such problem where we will have to choose correct answer on basis or just AND and OR. Lets see wht experts have to say on this .
