question about specific B School

by boconn3 » Mon Mar 19, 2007 8:16 pm
Stacy,

Perhaps you can answer this question. Do you have an explanation as to why Rice's MBA program isn't ranked higher? All of the notable rankings list this school in the 30s or 40s, but I do not understand why. The school's selectivity is improving, the average salary for graduates is high, it is located in a large city with several top employers and the school's is known nationally as a great university. I realize each ranking weighs different aspects of a school, but it seems the program is strong in several areas. If you have some insight, please let me know!

Thanks!
hello!

I cannot tell you why Rice is not ranked higher, but this is just another data point to support the fact that you really have to take the rankings with a grain of salt. They all have different criteria - you have to understand the criteria and make sure they matter to you. It's so important to do your own research and come to your own conclusions - so kudos to you for doing so!
