GMAT Score:680
Hello all experts and Gmatters...

i am taking my GMAT on 26th Feb and am way off the targeted 720. I took the first Mock test from Gmat Prep in Dec and scored 510 (Q24, V32). I took another mock test from Gmat Prep few days ago and scored 600 (Q39, V34). I see that Quant is clearly my weakness. I plan to revise the Quant from Kaplan premier 2011, do OG12 questions in the coming week, and take another mock test on 6th Feb.

I also realized that many questions intimidated me when i took the test. I, while relaxed later, attempted those questions again and was able to solve them. I guess my challenge is to keep my nerves calm while taking the test.

Anyways, i want to see whether i can score something closer to 650 (Q45+, V34+) in the next mock test. Please advice as to how i can make my next week really productive.

Thanks....

I scored a 510 on my first gmatprep test back in december, now I am scoring around 600-620 myself (my goal is 650-700). Anyway yes nerves/anxiety definitely have the ability to sabotage your ability. Time every practice problem you do from here on out. Also, expect to get quite a few WRONG, knowing when to skip is very important on the gmat. You have improved a lot since December and I am sure if you keep your nerves under control you will do better. I scored a 41 on my mock test (verbal section) back in november, I totally put off studying for the verbal section and my score is now consistently around 30-32. Lets face it in one month your probably not going to improve your reading comp an unbelievable amount, but I with enough effort I think it IS possible to get almost all of the sentence correction questions right. Also if you can do it quickly (in one minute) you automatically buy yourself time for CR and RC.

@iridebikes: Thanks a lot for a motivating reply. Taking your advice to time questions, i think i will start solving 37 OG12 (20 PS + 17 DS) quant problems daily before coming to office and limit those to 75 minutes. That way, i will be able to finish all the OG questions in about 10 days from today. I expect to see better quant score when i take the next mock test.

For Verbal, i will put everything on hold untill i see a better quant score. I am pretty ok in SC and CR, and not too bad in RC. As you said, i might not be able to do wonders in RC in just one month, but with good performance in CR and SC, i can atleast do some damage control :)

Meanwhile, what bikes do you ride??? :)
