Time Management

by soni_pallavi » Sun Sep 02, 2012 12:53 am
Hi

Im having trouble with managing my time per question for both the quant and verbal section.
Im to take my GMAT in one month and the advice ive got so far is to take as many mock tests as i can in between.

Can anyone plz give me specific advice on how to be more vigilant about my time during the test for both Quant and verbal ???

Itll be a huge help.

Thanks

It is very important to be able to monitor the passing time without losing concentration.
A very good strategy is simply to check your timing after completing five questions. Since in both sections we have about 2 minutes per problem, doing five questions should take around 10 minutes. If it is less than 10 minutes, you will be ahead of time. If it is more, than you are late and should speed things up a bit, while doing next five questions.

Time management is a major issue for most students taking the GMAT. The computer adaptive nature of the test doesn't help matters either.

If you're interested, we have a free video on the topic of time management: https://www.gmatprepnow.com/module/gener ... es?id=1244

It talks about the steps to take on test day to keep you on track.

Cheers,
