my maths is weak...

How much do you score now in quant and in verbal ? GMATPrep tests are best indicators. Which section are you good at quant or verbal ? Try to maximize your strengths and improve your weakness. If you are good at quant then go for MGMAT books and concentrate on inequality, co ordinate geometry, word/rate problems, statistics. If you are good at these then you can reach 48 easily. Inequality is very important among the above. For SC read MGMAT sc guide practice as much as possible. Once solving problems try to find out every mistake in wrong answer choice. That will help you identify errors easily and improve timing as well :)
Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.

I would recommend just doing math practice sets. Maybe 10 problems at a time, and then check your answers. And then do 10 more problems.

Do the practice sets again after a week. Keep practicing the math that you see in the book, and focus on getting better at those problems. Chances are, you'll see some problems that are similar on test day, and if you've been practicing those problems, you'll nail them easily.
