In the last twenty years, despite the chauvinism of European connoisseurs, California wines are respected throughout the world.

(A) are respected
(B) are becoming better respected
(C) which have gained respect
(D) have gained respect
(E) have since become respected
A vs D which one is better and why???? Please give ur reasons
IMO D

Op A:--> are respected---> passive construction. moreover, we only know that the wines got respect in last twenty years...don't know about whether they are continuing respect...this construction doesn't restricts this idea, This is my opinion though m not a tense expert.

Op D:--> have gained...who gained?? wines...active voice..more clear and restricts the idea...wines gained respect and that action is now in complete state
