Doubt: If we put a semicolon in option B will the option be correct ?
This is the explaination of option B. "This choice incorrectly uses a comma to connect two independent clauses, thus creating a run-on sentence. Two independent clauses must be connected either by a conjunction, such as "and" or "but," or by a semicolon"

OA is E

I would like to understand the difference in usage of comma and semicolon in B and E. Also how does a comma creates a run on sentence here.
In case of two independent sentence joined by semicolon, what happens to the pronoun reference. (For ex: in E, its has no referrant in the 2nd independent sentence. So isnt it dependent on the 1st sentence.
