I thought that there are 3 subjects here. "Phyllis ... solar imagery", "Judeo Christian..." and "images borrowed". All these should "suggest" and not "suggests".

All the "things" "suggests" is itself wrong. Be it a group also. Because we are referring to 3 groups here which makes the subject as plural.

My only explanation for the use of suggests refers back to the singular subject Phyllis Wheatley's blending. It may make more sense if read Phyllis Wheatley's blending... suggests. Other than that, this is quite a question!
