A. Along a 15-mile stretch of desert, a dozen warehouse sit silent and emply, relics that depict city's dream of becoming a national warehouse hub.

E. Along a 15-mile stretch of desert, a dozen warehouses sit silent and empty, relics of citys dream of becoming a national warehouse hub.

E is wrong because "relics of...." I do not understand why. pls, explain fully.

In E, Relics is modifying empty. That is not what is intended. We need to modify the clause a dozen warehouse sit silent and employ

ie Relics refers to the act of dozen warehouses sitting silent and empty. There fore the usage in A is correct in which relics modifies a dozen warehouses sit silent and empty

In A is "warehouse" (singular) a typo? Shouldn't it be WAREHOUSES?
