What is 1000 SC ?

by Param800 » Sat Dec 29, 2012 6:38 pm
Hello Guys,

Can someone explain me what exactly is this 1000 SC ? I see a lot of information online about them but I don't know if its a good source for practicing questions or not ? Also, somewhere it says that these questions were originated from ScoreTop which contained copyrighted material from GMAC. So, I am in a doubt. Can anyone help me in regard to this ?

Thank You

If you are preparing for the GMAT, *STAY AWAY* from the 1000 documents, especially the 1000 SCs. It will do more harm than good to your SC concepts. These notorious sources comprise quite a few problems that are UNREPRESENTATIVE of the GMAT, often testing concepts that are outside the scope of the GMAT.

Your best bets as materials are OG 12, OG 13, OG Verbal Review 2nd Edition, problems from the GMATPrep software, MGMAT SC Strategy Gude 5th Edition, and Aristotle SC Grail

Additionally, you may also purchase access to more official problems from the official test makers.

Completely agree with @The Iceman. Do not use 1000SC document. You may find some questions that may appear to be from official sources but you will also find many mistakes with those questions, mistakes that may have crept in while reproducing the questions.

I cannot emphasize on the importance of practicing from good quality sources. Believe me its not the quantity of questions that you practice, its the quality of questions and the quality of your review process that makes all the difference in your learning.

So steer away from 1000SC...:)

Good luck for your preparation.
