Could you please help me by explaining the difference between 1 and 2:
1- Most of the time when we use a comparison using "than" or "as", we omit verb comparators, as they are implied:
"He is shorter than she"
"He is depressed as they, but he soldiered onward anyway"
2- Watch for comparison of actions/inanimate objects performing compared actions:
Incorrect: "French wines taste better than Australian wines"
Correct: "French wines taste better than Australian wines do"
