Here we need those because "individuals of one genetic composition" is plural. Also remember one important key point here i.e If you are comparing some thing with other we should use another not others because present thing will be included in others.
For example, Ramu is taller than other boys in class is WRONG because here we are saying that Ramu is taller than others which include ramu also.

The correct form will be Ramu is taller than any other boy in the class.

So, now the correct answer for this question is D.

natural selection operates whenever individuals.....than individuals.....

"those" is correct as "individuals" is plural.

IMO: D whats the OA?

A: that has no reference, it cannot refer to people
E- for same reason

B,C,D left
B- other - we donot know if it is referring to Individuals or Genetic composition
C- another- we donot know if it is referring to Individuals or Genetic composition
D- clear- individuals of another GC
natural selection operates whenever individuals of one genetic composition are better at reproducing than those of another (individuals of another GC )
comparisons are clear
