unexpected growth in consumer demand is better than unexpected consumer demand growth..

Hence B C and E are left.....

In c was possible is awkward.....hence out.....

its a cause and effect sentecne.......so leaving ......is a better consturction than.........resulting in .......and moreover.......if not leaving......we need a noun after comman to represent the idea....and e fails to do so.....

Hence B

Use of past tense later part of sentence.

(C) leaving domestic oil prices vulnerable to any hints of oil supplies that are disrupted in the Middle East or to any unexpected growth in consumer demand as was possibly
