Verb ing form/infinitive

The rule that I was following till date

Verb to X/ Xing--------Then to X is correct
Noun to X/Xing --------Then Xing is correct


BUT
Create XYX to take/for Taking ---here XYZ is noun to it should be for taking right?????
But ans is to take

can somebody explain this in detail

I have a BAT (nonn) FOR hitting the ball.
I MADE (verb) a bat TO hit the ball.
