PR Test SC problem

The usual response of people who become ill after drinking alcohol is to drink again, sometimes the same liquor, ignoring the likelihood that the toxins that caused it could happen again.

A)ignoring the likelihood that the toxins that caused it could happen again

B)ignoring the likelihood that the toxins causing it could precipitate a similar physiological response

C)ignoring that the toxins that caused the illness might also precipitate another one

D)without anticipating that the toxins causing the illness could happen again

E)without anticipating that the same toxins that caused the illness might precipitate another such physiological response

I will post the OA in the next post as I would prefer seeing unbiased answers. People please help me by providing your answers with explanations.

Its a Parallel+logical construction type question

a)antecedent(noun in this case) for "it" is not clear.
b)antecedent(noun in this case) for "it" is not clear.

c)Here its talking about the same toxin from the same liquor not just any other toxin."Another one" is confusing.

d)Here its talking about the same toxin from the same liquor not just any other toxin.

e)Same liquid +same toxin
Also,"usual response"+"another such physiological response" --> logical comparison.

So I think answer should be option E.

Comes down to C and E.
in A,B, "it" is ambiguous cannot make out whether it refers to response or illness

D is awkward an unclear

C - "One" - does not have a clear antecedent again.

Left with E.

Thanks for the explanation guys, the OA is indeed E.

I was confused between C & E. In C, I was not sure if "one" was ambiguous or not because I thought it was singular and could only refer to illness, as "toxins" is plural. Hence I thought it was not ambiguous and less wordier than E.

However I was wrong.
