Responding to consumer feedback, it was decided by the product team to alter the design of the wireless controller.

Whenever I see an opening modifier with the rest of the sentence underlined, I immediately check for an agreement error. Usually, you'll be able to get down to 1 or 2 answers. In this case, who or what is responding to the customer feedback?

(A) it was decided by the product team to alter the design of the wireless controller
(what is "it"?)

(B) the decision of the product team was to alter the design of the wireless controller
(it's not the decision itself that is responding to feedback; it's the team making the decision)

(C) the product team decided to alter the design of the wireless controller
(nailed it)

(D) the design of the wireless controller was altered by the product team
(the design itself is not responding)

(E) the wireless controller design was altered by the product team
(same as D)

Boom.
