As the honeybee's stinger is heavily barbed, staying where it is inserted, this results in the act of stinging causing the bee to sustain a fatal injury.

Yeps E for me too...
C is wordy and also 'honeybee's stinger results'....which is awkward, because it is the act of stinging and not the stinger itself that causes fatal injury to the honeybee

Stuck with D and E.. Could anyone point out the reason for ruling out D ?
