What is wrong with me???

by carllecat » Sat Nov 22, 2008 3:39 pm
When I work on the problems in OG11, I am a real champion. Each problem is easy to get and to solve. However, when I take practice tests, my mind is freezing like a Rastaman that has been dropped in Antarctica.

I do not think it is due to anxiety, but mostly to the fact that the contrast white background and small black fonts makes it hard to stay focused. Am I the only one in such a situation?

This might be a funny idea, but tomorrow, I think I will take another GMAT CAT wearing my polarized sunglasses. Please do not tell me I need to take a vision exam, my vision is perfect! Any idea or suggestion???

It might simply be your lack of concentration or focus. Next time you do OG questions, do them in 75 minute intervals. Don't...answer your phone, check your facebook, check your email...NONE of that.

Hi Bacaly,

Thanks for the reply. I always make sure I do not get distracted during a test. I turn off my cellphone, my MSN, do not go on he Internet, etc.

The feeling is hard to describe, but I just cannot focus when I work on a CAT test on the computer.

It's hard because we all go through school doing paper tests and adjusting to a computer test is difficult but not impossible.

Try downloading OG on esnips.com and doing questions from your computer screen rather than the OG book.

Just think of a CAT as a chance for you to improve, nothing else.

You simply get a chance to showoff your skills after studying. Don't think of it as a test.
