How to score 38+ in verbal

Hello fellas,

I was wondering if someone can throw light on minimim no. of questions which needs to be correct if one wants to score 38+ in verbal ( passive voice :D)

- I think first 5-6 should be right,
- Last 2-3 dont matter much
- Overall out of 41 - 35 should be correct

All the three conditions must be fulfilled to get 38+

Someone told me that
- infact upto 3 incorrect in each section,
- first 3-4 correct
-overall 32+ correct is sufficient to score 38+

pls let me know if anybody has ne different idea/ opinion.

why not shoot for 48 instead ?
In GMAT the number of correct questions matters less. What matters is the difficulty level.

What are your weaknesses in verbal ?

well my main concerns is - re-reading.

I read CR passage twice and do RC still i manage to complete the section but i thnk re-readin decreases the efficieny. I want to reduce this so as to devote more time on critically analyzing options of CR & RC.

i thnk a 38 in Verbal and 50 in quant can get u in 700+ category - right !!

If you get 35 correct out of 41 in verbal.. ur score would be near to 46 - 47 in verbal.. way above what u want :-)

my mistake by - 38 in verbal & 50 in quant - i was referring to scaled score !!

So a 38 + 50 combo can lead to 700 -720 - thts wat i think !!

now for 38 in verbal - i thnk 31-32 questions shud be correct (it can be even less if u correctly answer first 20 questions n recieve hi difficulty questions b/n 20-30, but just a ball park guesstimate)

for 50 in quant - i thnk 35-36 needs to correct(again same funda if u recieve hi difficullty questions in middle, it can be even less)
