Kindly add to the list and plz try to keep it short. This post could help give a quick review of sentence correction preferences. To start with :
Because Vs On Account Of : Because is preferred
If Vs Whether : Whether is preferred
Because Vs Due To : Because is preferred
Infinitive Vs Gerund : if you have to choose between an "ing" verb and the infinitive AFTER another verb, always choose the infinitive. When the verb does not follow another verb, the participle ("ing" form) is usually correct.
