Hi All,

I have doubt in the below two sentences,

1) Having good friends is a wonderful thing
2) Whatever they want to do is fine with me.

In the first one subject FRIENDS must follow by the plural verb ARE only right ?

Similarly in the second one PLURAL subject THEY must agree with ARE only right ?

Please help me where I am going wrong....

In the first sentence, "Friends" is not the subject but phrase "having good friends" is..

Similarly, in the second sentence, "they" is not the subject but the phrase "whatever they want to do" is..
