sc - survivors

Hi,

I don't understand anything about this sc
could you help me to find the concept ?

Adult survivors of child abuse traditionally have had little or no chance that they could get their symptoms recognized and treated.

(A) that they could get their symptoms recognized and treated
(B) to recognize and treat their symptoms
(C) of getting their symptoms recognized and treated
(D) of recognizing and treating symptoms
(E) of getting his or her symptoms recognized and treated

OA is C

(A) that they could get their symptoms recognized and treated
(B) to recognize and treat their symptoms - changes the meaning
(C) of getting their symptoms recognized and treated
(D) of recognizing and treating symptoms - incorrect
(E) of getting his or her symptoms recognized and treated - singular / plural issue

survivors have to get their symptoms treated - between A and C, C seems to be a better choice.

IMO C is correct

A)useing that is incorrect here.
B) implies that the adults are recognising and treating their symptoms.....wrong( the sen doesn't convey this)
C)ok better than A
D)same issue as in B meaning is getting altered
E) adult surveys (plural) ....his or her(singular) ...pronoun antecedent problem
It does not matter how many times you get knocked down , but how many times you get up
