Need help on answering this

Please correct the bolded part of the sentence, if necessary, with one of given options.

Improvements in economic theory and data gathering today makes possible more accurate to forecast than was possible even 20 years ago.

Is it B?????

None of the answers is good - where is the question from? Is it possible there is a typo somewhere? Among other errors: In A, 'to forecast' needs to be a noun form - 'forecasts' or 'forecasting', and 'improvements' is the subject of the verb 'makes', which should be 'make'. In B, 'then' would need to be 'than'; with that change, it's the best answer. In C, the implication is that the improvements occurred 'today', whereas it's the forecasts which happen 'today'. In D, the verb 'was' at the end has the subject 'forecasts', so it would need to be 'were'. In E, 'that' would need to be 'than', and 'forecasting' is the subject of the verb 'were', which would need to be 'was'.
