IMO, following sentences are correct:
1. Modeled either on X or ON Y.
2. Either modeled on X or modeled on Y

But I don't think "Either modeled on X or ON Y" is correct.
Can we omit modeled before "on Y"

Plz explain.

Actually you are right, what ever comes after either must be repeated after OR. But certain exceptions may be there, not sure of those though. Does ellipsis play a role here?

Anyone?
