Since the 1930's aircraft manufacturers have tried to build airplanes with frictionless wings, shaped so smoothly and perfectly that the air passing over them would not become turbulent.

o wings, shaped so smoothly and perfectly
o wings, wings so smooth and so perfectly shaped
o wings that are shaped so smooth and perfect
o wings, shaped in such a smooth and perfect manner
o wings, wings having been shaped smoothly and perfectly so

Hey bro..

IMO -- B.

I agree that the use of wings twice is confusing, but then if u read the sentence without wings it does not seem clear.

U can use the POE to eliminate all the other chopices.

here smooth and perfect are modifying the way they are shaped, i.e. modifying a verb, so an adverb is required. Precisely, smoothly and perfectly, does the job here.

Secondly, IMO, in A, the them placed later in the non-underlined sentence doesn't have a clear referent.

In B, that ambiguity is removed by clearing making wings as the main referent of them.

Pl correct me if i am wrong.

IMO C..
First take: 640 (50M, 27V) - RC needs 300% improvement

Well, OA is perfectly fine....Please refer resumptive modifiers....This is classic example for that.
