A
Initially considered an inventor's mistake, a product informally known as the "sticky note," which can stick to a surface without adhering permanently,
CORRECT
B
Initially considered an inventor's mistake, the "sticky note," having the ability to stick to a surface without adhering permanently, a product informally known as the "sticky note"
The order of the sentence is wrong. "a product informally known as the "sticky note" is wrongly placed.
C
A product initially considered an inventor's mistake, informally known as the "sticky note," which can stick to a surface without adhering permanently,
"informally" could refer to the inventor mistake and not to the product.
D
A product initially considered an inventor's mistake, called the "sticky note," which has the ability to stick to a surface and without adhering permanently,
"has the ability and without adhering" does not mantain parallelism
E
A product that was initially considered an inventor's mistake and has the ability to stick to a surface and without adhering permanently, informally known as the "sticky note,"
no parallelism "was considered", "has the ability to ... and ... adhering"

What are we trying to say here?
The 'sticky note' was initially considered an inventor's mistake, but has become one of the best-selling office supplies in history.

Let's look at the choices one by one:

B: 'a product informally... note' must modify 'sticky note'. Incorrect.
C: Seems to imply that the inventor's mistake is referred to as 'the sticky note'. Incorrect.
D: Same issue as C. Additionally, the 'and' separating 'surface' and 'adhering permanently' is unnecessary. Incorrect.
E: 'informally known as sticky note' must modify 'product' - in this option, its placement is incorrect. The use of 'and' is also a problem. Incorrect.

Option A has no such issues and is thus, the right answer.
