well, I am between A and E I don't knwo wether you need the pronoum "it" again to refer to the animal or not...althought "it" could refer also to family so it is a little ambiguos, I guess I will go with A

D - says that 'as big as 30 foot long' ... We can't associate big with length..

I would for E, as 'it' clearly indicates the reference to the whale and not the 32 species.
